Introduction
Education Background:
A true Renaissance man, Mr. Gulick graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree with an emphasis in English, and minors in Physiology, Art, and Education. He also played baseball for Wichita State. He then graduated from Walden University with a Master of Science Degree in Educational Technology.
Teaching Background:
Mr. Gulick began his teaching career at a non-public high school in 1996 for Los Angeles Unified School District where he began teaching high school technology courses. In 1997 he moved to 3rd grade where he taught for the next five years. Being an early adopter of technology, he was made a tech teacher on special assignment where he helped other teachers around LAUSD integrate technology into their classrooms. He was then drawn to Huntington Middle School in 2003 because of a unique tech class called Applied Tech. This class allowed Mr. Gulick to showcase what HMS students could do with a little innovation. He was then made a tech teacher on special assignment for HMS before being moved back into the classroom where he is currently a 6th Grade Math and Science teacher for the past five years. He also teaches Coding and is the HMS Robotics Team Facilitator.
Educational Titles and Awards:
He holds the titles of Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Certified Innovator, and Khan Academy Ambassador where he frequently presents at educational conferences around the Country. Mr. Gulick's students have won four (4) Los Angeles County Digital Video Awards and have presented and been featured twice at The Apple Store Pasadena.
