An active member of the HMS community since 2008, Derek Jamieson strives to make music a reality for all of his students. Mr. Jamieson’s choral groups and jazz band have performed in countless festivals, tours, and showcases where they consistently receive the highest honors and awards. His passion for music transcends into the eyes of his students, and his approach to teaching brings music to a personal level. Mr. Jamieson has been an active leader in many musical productions at HMS, serving as music director for The Pirates of Penzance, The Sound of Music and Oliver. Mr. Jamieson is currently completing an intense three-year master of music degree in choral conducting at Cal State Los Angeles.
